History

These breed also known as the “Beardie” that is originate in the Scotland in early 16th century. Basically this breed used for herding dogs, they were famous for their agility, intelligence and hardiness on sheep and cattle across rugged terrains. The long coat provided protection against hard weather situations. In the 1500s, beardies were brought from polish lowland sheepdogs brought to scotland. That were crossed with local herding breeds.

These dogs were famous in Scottish shepherds for their gentle temperament and work ethic. During the early 20th century despite facing near extinction, the honourable breeders kept the bearded collie in world war ll. Today, they are appreciated both as loyal family and versatile working dogs. Also known for their distinctive, expressive faces and playful nature. In the United kennel club (UKC) and the American kennel club (AKC), this breed is recognized by major kennel clubs worldwide.
